Privacy policy

Harbor Light is made by Spaikz LLC. Last updated October 23, 2026.

The short version. The game runs on your device and your progress stays there. There's no account and nothing to buy. To learn which nights get played and how they go, it can send anonymous usage counts to our own database, which you can turn off. No ads, no advertising trackers, no analytics company, and we don't sell or share your data.

What stays on your device

Your stars, best scores, coins, lighthouse upgrades and whether the sound is on are saved on your device so they're there next time. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app, or clearing this website's data in your browser, deletes them.

Anonymous usage counts

To see which parts of the game are played and fix what isn't working, Harbor Light counts how it's used and sends those counts to our own Google Cloud Firestore database. It's not Google Analytics or any other analytics company, and nothing is used for advertising or shared with anyone.

What's sent: which screens are opened and for how long (the title screen, a night's introduction, the night itself, the pause card and the results), which night was started and how it ended (won or lost, stars, ships brought home and wrecked, score, how many times the foghorn was sounded and how many flares were fired), whether the sound was switched on or off, whether the device can run the game's graphics, and the text of any game error. With them go: a random number the game makes when it's first opened (it isn't linked to your device or anything else, and we can't tell who it belongs to), the platform and game version, the OS version, phone, tablet or computer, the device language and time zone, and the day the game was first opened.

What's never sent: your name, email or anything else about you, anything you type, your location, contacts, advertising ID or device model. We don't keep IP addresses with the counts. The counts are turned into daily totals, and the individual records are deleted after 60 days.

To turn it off, switch off "Share anonymous usage counts" at the bottom of the title screen. The game then deletes its random number and anything not yet sent. On the web, a browser's Global Privacy Control signal turns it off too.

What the game and website download

The game and this website are served by Google Firebase Hosting, and this website (not the game) loads fonts from Google Fonts. Like any website, these services receive your device's IP address and normal web request information. Nothing about how you play is sent with them; the only record of that is the anonymous usage counts above.

What we don't do

Harbor Light doesn't ask anyone, children included, for personal information, and the usage counts above aren't linked to a person.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what information we hold and ask us to delete it by emailing support@spaikz.com. We'll answer within 30 days.
